Anti helix piercing: aftercare and downsizing
The professional piercers in our SABOTEUR stores pierce the forward or anti helix piercing with a piercing needle. They therefore disinfect the respective area of your ear and mark the piercing’s position. They then pierce the ear cartilage under great pressure. This can cause pain for a few seconds, depending on your personal feeling. It is normal that your ear heats up, pounds and turns red. The following reactions of your body can occur and are no cause for concern:
- The pierced are swells
- Slight burning sensation
- Dull pain
- Light rebleeding or discharge around the spot where the ear got pierced
In order for the forward helix piercing to become a beautiful part of you, you should follow our piercers’ care instructions. Be very cautious in dealing with your new piercing and practice good hygiene before cleaning or caring for your wound. Use our After Care products that you can purchase in our online shop and in our stores. Avoid long showers or baths, hot temperatures, hairspray and putting high pressure on your ear while sleeping or when using your headphones.
After a healing time of about 6 to 12 months, the earring’s back will be too long. This is crucial right after piercing, so that the tissue can swell and there is enough space for a canaliculus to form. After the forward helix piercing is healed, you need a shorter back part. In our product range, you can choose between different lengths. Our piercers in our stores will be happy to help you find the right back part and will also replace it with the new earring.
