SABOTEUR Fine Piercing - Recommended aftercare

Rook piercings are available to buy online and in SABOTEUR stores. You can also arrange for have professional piercers to pierce your ears in store in luxurious cabins. These expert professionals use a curved needle to avoid injuring the surrounding skin. Rook piercings penetrate very dense cartilage, which may be painful, depending on your level of sensitivity. The rook piercing process also takes longer than other helix and flat piercings , because the piercers have to pierce slowly through the thick cartilage.

As soon as the rook piercing has been inserted, you should carefully look after it. We recommend refraining from sports, swimming, saunas and solaria for the initial four weeks. The healing process with rook piercings is also relatively slow and can take around 3 to 12 months. Pay close attention to our aftercare recommendations to ensure that the piercing heals perfectly to ensure that you have life-long enjoyment from your piercing.

  • Thoroughly wash your hands before cleansing the piercing site and avoid touching the piercing with your fingers.
  • Gently but thoroughly apply the SABOTEUR After Care Spray twice a day to the front and back of the puncture site.
  • Use a cotton bud to carefully dab the piercing dry after showering. Avoid twisting or turning the piercing.
  • Avoid taking long or excessively hot showers and do not apply any skincare or styling products to the piercing.
  • Gently pull your clothes over your head and use a soft pillow, travel cushion or neck roll when sleeping.
  • Do not worry about scabs forming and do not remove them. To some extent, they are normal.

You may experience some discomfort from the freshly pierced rook piercing. Normally you should not need to worry about this. However, please contact our piercers should you be in any doubt. The following reactions are quite normal after rook piercings:

  • Localised swelling of the rook piercing site
  • Slight burning sensation
  • Dull pain
  • Minimal discharge or bleeding
  • Scab formation

Our piercers will also advise you on selecting the right rook piercing and demonstrate how you can combine it with flat, tragus, conch and helix piercings . For your very personal and fashion-forward body art statement.
