The septum piercing goes through a mix of skin tissue and cartilage. Because it is located on the inside of the nose and outside forces do not come in contact, the healing time may be simple and quick.

Septum piercings penetrate through the tissue below the cartilage of the nasal septum. Our piercers work with small sterilised septum forceps with a cylindrical guide piece for a precise piercing and to avoid risks. Essentially, small septum piercings are not for novices as the nose is very sensitive and the nasal septum is not always flat. Septum piercings can therefore cause some slight pain.

The following reactions are completely normal following septum nose piercings:

Localised swelling of the septum piercing site
A slight burning sensation and dull pain
Redness
Slight bleeding, discharge, or scab formation

This will take about 1 to 2 months for septum piercings, with the nose healing from the inside out. Wash your hands thoroughly before caring for your septum piercing.
Do not touch your septum piercing directly and clean the puncture point with a cotton bud or cotton pad.
Spray the aftercare product onto the piercing twice a day.
Avoid make-up, hair spray, perfume and long showers.
Refrain from sports, swimming pool, saunas and solaria for at least 4 weeks.

To ensure that your septum piercing heals properly, we recommend that you avoid applying facial cleansers containing aggressive ingredients, make-up and skincare products directly to the septum piercing. Blow your nose gently and with the utmost care if you have a cold or hay fever. Avoid nasal sprays containing saline.
