The flat outer conch piercing perches on the cartilage tissue on the convex part of the ear above the ear lobe and between the inner conch and the helix. It is easy to confuse a flat outer conch piercing with a helix piercing , although the flat outer conch piercing is positioned slightly lower. An alternative position for a conch piercing is the trough, which is the middle area of the inside ear, also known as the inner conch.

Our piercers first mark the precise position for the entry and exit point of the outer conch piercing and thoroughly disinfect the area. They then use a sharp sterile needle to pierce through the cartilage. This requires considerable pressure and may cause a stinging pain sensation that will subside after a few seconds. Sensitivity to pain varies from person to person.
Follow-up aftercare starts as soon as the conch piercing is part of your body. It is important to allow the puncture site to heal perfectly to enable your stylish body art to enhance your look for many years to come.
- The healing process for outer conch piercings is around 6 to 12 months.
- We recommend refraining from sports, swimming pools, solaria and saunas for 4 weeks after outer conch piercing.
- Wash and style your hair carefully and avoid spraying hair spray on the piercing site.
- After showering or bathing, carefully pat the puncture site dry with a cotton bud or pad
- Wash your hands thoroughly before cleaning the piercing wound and applying the aftercare product.
- Apply the After Care Spray to the front and back pf the piercing site. Avoid twisting or turning the outer conch piercing.
- Take extra care when pulling your clothes over your head.
- Sleep on a soft pillow or travel cushion.
