Piercing ceremony and aftercare process
Express your independence with exquisite on-trend SABOTEUR piercings and book your personal piercing ceremony in on of our stores. Our piercers are masters of their profession and care about helping you and your body to ensure that your body jewellery fabulously complements your beauty and look. They will guide you professionally through the piercing and aftercare process.
The following requirements must be met:
- Minimum age 14 years. Only accompanied by a legal guardian, with both requiring a valid form of ID, consent form and proof that the accompanying person is a legal guardian
- From 16 years. A valid ID with a consent form, filled out and signed by a legal guardian
- 18+ years of age: a valid ID
The piercing process is not yet complete if the piercing is to become part of your body. Now the healing process can start. It can take a minimum of 3 months for the piercing to heal depending on the location of the piercings and your body. Lobe piercings are the exception to this rule, as they usually heal within 4 to 6 weeks. Follow our piercers' aftercare recommendations to ensure a perfect healing process. Hygiene is everything when it comes to cleaning and looking after your piercing. Avoid applying pressure or pulling or twisting the stud, excessively high temperatures or allowing the piercing site to come into contact with facial or hair care products.
The following reactions are normal after piercing:
- Localised swelling of the piercing site
- Some redness after piercing
- A slight burning sensation and dull pain
- Slight bleeding, especially in the early stages
- Discharge from the piercing site
- Scab formation
You should expect some pain from piercings, depending on your individual sensitivity to pain. Piercings through the skin and cartilage of the ear, in particular, may be painful because the tissue is firmer and requires some pressure to pierce through it. This is the case with helix, daith and conch piercings , among others. However, the level of pain depends very much on your personal sensitivity and will subside after a short time.
