The professional piercers in our stores are skilled at piercing the tragus cartilage, the flap of skin located at the entrance to the outer ear canal. The tragus piercing is thus visible from all sides and can be seen when viewed straight-on and so is one of the most popular surface cartilage piercings. Our skilled piercers use piercing needles or piercing catheters to pierce through the cartilage. A small piece of cork is held behind the cartilage to protect the ear canal and create slight counter pressure. You will feel slight pain, but it will subside after a short time. Depending on your level of sensitivity, you may experience some discomfort as the ear cartilage is quite dense, is not easy to pierce through, and contains many small nerve endings. Once they have professionally pierced through the tragus, our piercers insert the tragus piercing you have selected – a genuine gold labret stud, barbell hoop or clicker. Now that the piercing has become part of your body you need to lavish care on it during the healing process. Typically, it takes between 6 and 12 months for the piercing site to heal. - Avoid using hair spray and perfume directly on the ear piercing.
- Wash your hands thoroughly before cleansing and caring for your tragus piercing.
- Gently and thoroughly apply the aftercare product supplied by our stores to the front and back of the piercing. Do not twist or turn the piercing.
- Sleep on a soft pillow or a travel cushion.
- Do not wash your hair for too long or in water that is too hot. Then carefully pat the area around the piercing dry with a cotton bud.
